Angus Anderson's Story.

Angus Anderson's cancer journey began in September 2019 with severe dental injuries, including two broken bone fragments in his jaw and the loss of six teeth. This led to job loss and significant out-of-pocket expenses for dental treatments. In August 2020, Angus began experiencing urinary difficulties, initially dismissed by walk-in clinics as an overactive bladder. By August 2021, his symptoms worsened, with frequent, painful urination and blood in his urine. Misdiagnoses and ineffective treatments from various doctors only added to his frustration and suffering.

In September 2021, after numerous emergency visits and inconclusive tests, a tumor was discovered in Angus's bladder. By January 2022, it was confirmed to be an aggressive form of bladder cancer. Faced with the daunting reality of his condition and a 10% chance of survival, Angus underwent a 13-hour surgery in June 2022 to remove his bladder, prostate, and lymph nodes, and to create a neo bladder. The recovery process was gruelling, involving daily injections, frequent saline flushes, and managing multiple drainage bags. Despite these challenges, Angus remained determined to overcome his illness.

Angus's post-surgery journey included five cycles of chemotherapy, which he completed by November 2022. Throughout this period, he faced numerous setbacks, including infections and complications with his stitches. Nevertheless, his resilience and determination have been unwavering. Angus's story is not just about his battle with cancer but also about his incredible strength and perseverance. His experience serves as a powerful inspiration to others facing similar struggles, highlighting the importance of resilience and hope in the fight against cancer.
